Namco knew that they had to get the polygon paintbrush out and improve the visuals and they did just that. This is not an amazing looking game or anything like that. However, Namco clearly did a great deal of work in making it look more like a PS2 game. It has some pretty jaggy edges on the character models, but some of the levels look fantastic.
The gameplay of Time Crisis 2 is the same as it was in the original game. You go into an area, you need to take out the bad guys, save hostages and move on. It is basic stuff, but this has always been one of the more satisfying light gun shooters out there. The GunCon 2 that this comes with is even better than the first. It is lighter and it also feels a bit more accurate too which is great.
There are some amazing set pieces in this game. One that always gets talked about is the high-speed boat chase which is just flat out awesome. There is a two-player option here and it is both good and bad. The good is that you can have two consoles, two TVs, two games, two GunCons and play that way. Do they add a new game to the short list of light gun titles?
Yes, but there is a catch. You can't use any of the other guns with the game. You have to use the GunCon, a pack-in gun that Namco boasts as the most accurate gun ever made. So if you already own a light gun, put it back in the closet and keep waiting for a new game. The president of the Republic of Seria's daughter has been kidnapped. It is up to you to blast your way through scores of bad guys in either the original arcade game or the new Playstation original scenario.
Hidden areas, multiple endings, and different gameplay modes will have you shooting for your life. Time Crisis is a light gun game. There is no way to get around this fact. It follows the same move-you-from-scene-to-scene formula that all light gun games employ. The game does have a few things that are unique or just don't follow the cliche for light gun titles. Since most people have played a standard light gun game, I will highlight the things that make this one different.
The number one thing that makes this game different is the gun itself. Like I said, this game will not work with your standard gun. You have to use the pack-in GunCon gun. The gun plugs directly in line with the video signal which is supposed to increase the accuracy of the aim.
I have no reason to believe that this is not true, because all of my shots were dead on. That does not mean my aim was dead on, but the shot went where I was aiming. The next thing that is different about the game is the introduction af a duck button. The duck button allows you to hide behind structures to avoid the incoming fire.
This means that instead of being out in the open at all times, you can control your character by making him duck back out of harm's way when a projectile is incoming. I know you are probably thinking that this must make the game extremely easy. Just wait for a clear shot, blast the bad guys, then duck for cover until the next clear shot. Well, the developers have thought about this also.
You are on a time limit to get between stages. If you sit and wait for too long, the time will expire and it's back to the beginning of the level. This was a very clear way to keep you in the line of fire most of the time. Another thing that this game did differently is the fact that you do not encounter power-ups. Most light gun games have you shooting crates to expose different weapons, grenades or other power-ups. The only thing that you will encounter in this game is the occasional time extension.
You are basically assigned a six-shooter and it is up to you to make the best of it. I think that this was cool because it made things a little more realistic but I have to admit, I do like getting rocket launchers, shotguns or whatever other weapons of destruction run rampant in other games.
The last thing that makes the game different is the fact that your performance will affect the path you follow. If you shoot well, you will be taken down an alternative path to the end. They are -.
New enemy types have also come into play within Time Crisis 3 to accommodate the new weapons. Apart from standard blue uniformed soldiers and sharpshooting red uniformed soldiers that are present in Time Crisis games there are also -. The player for the first time, will be required to shoot a higher variety of vehicles then any other Time Crisis game. The popular videogame enemy that is the aircraft makes an appearance, as well as other vehicles such as jeeps.
The Playstation 2 version offers enhanced graphics compared to the Arcade version, and offers two modes unique to the console version as well as the standard Arcade mode.
Both of these modes are harder in difficulty then that of the standard Arcade mode, but difficulty can be adjusted. The modes can only be played single-player, unlike the Arcade mode as well. The character of Randy Garrett has changed slightly between the two versions, with the Arcade version of the game portraying him wearing purple armor, whilst in the console version Randy Garrett wears red armor.

Alicia agrees to meet up with them at the beach. Agents Alan Dunaway and Wesley Lambert storm the beach the next morning, fighting against heavy resistance by the Zagorias Federation on the beach. They discover a wrecked ship, and are forced to fight in it as enemy soldiers surround the ship. The ship's condition slowly worsens and the topmast falls, causing the ship to tip over with the agents still inside the ship.
Trying to escape with still soldiers fighting against them, they find a hole within the ship in which to escape. However, a helicopter suddenly appears, and the pilot within the plane by the name of Victor Zahn exclaims "You're finished! About to press a big red button to release missiles from the plane, Alicia Winston suddenly appears with a military jeep and beckons the agents to jump.
When it comes to a Time Crisis game, players have come to expect a certain degree of tactical action mixed in with the usual point and shoot segments. While most other on-rail shooters like House of the Dead will have players focusing on getting the higher score they can, Time Crisis has always been about getting the best time and score possible for each stage.
This translates into less time spent in cover and more fast-paced shooting. Keep in mind that abusing the spray and pray tactic is a great way to get you killed, especially when the AI is as advanced as it is in Time Crisis 5. Available across a range of platforms — including the PS3 — Time Crisis 4 was actually the first of the Time Crisis series to integrate a first-person shooter FPS mode into the gameplay.
This gave players the option to continue with the more well-known arcade mode or try their hand at a first-person shooter. Unfortunately, there has been no clear indication as to whether the game will become compatible with more up-to-date games consoles.
This was in fact one of the last games to make it to a console, as the Time Crisis 5 game is still only available in arcades as it appears that Namco have dropped their interest in this particular series. Browse games Game Portals.
